Cheers to
our volunteers!
2019 State Parks Volunteer Award winners
|
Throughout the
year, Washington State Parks volunteers put on their green vests
and give their all to the public lands they love.
From camp hosting, to combating invasive plants, to
keeping things tidy, volunteers enrich the park experience for
everyone.
Each year, we recognize volunteers for their
exemplary service. Read about our 2019 volunteer awards winners
and their accomplishments on our Adventure Awaits blog.

Refuge Outdoor Festival: Adventure, Healing, Boldness
|
The Washington
State Parks Folk and Traditional Arts Program has teamed up again
with the organizers of Refuge Outdoor Festival. In past
years, the festival was a three-day camping experience geared
toward people of color. It centers on building community through
outdoor recreation, conversations (community talks, workshops),
music and art that appeal to a diverse and inclusive audience.
|
|
This year, the festival is going virtual! Due to the
current social distancing measures and efforts to keep our
communities safe, we have recorded a variety of performances and
conversations at state parks. Live streaming sessions will showcase
art, music, connections, and giveaways.
Join us for a fun-filled online camp-in. The virtual
event takes place Sept.
18-20. Tickets are available on a sliding-scale. Order tickets here!

Avoid the
crowds — stay midweek
|
This year has
changed our lives in many ways, including how we work.
For those who can, teleworking from home has taken
the place of working in an office.
Have you considered taking your work and commute to
the great outdoors?
Did you know you have a better chance of making
reservation at your favorite state park if you stay mid-week
instead of the weekends? Consider bringing your work — and your
family — for a combined vacation and a fresh alternative to
teleworking!
For more inspiration, read about teleworking from state parks.
Then, reserve online or call
888-CAMPOUT (888-226-7688).
